Bulgari, New Bond Street, London
The complete refurbishment of the Bulgari London flagship store in a grade 2 listed building on New Bond Street, comprising Ground and First floor retail with back-of-house at basement level. The project required a fire engineered solution and included a marble stair with two storey high bronze screens, a new lift with associated pit and underpinning to the party wall with the Royal Institution, strengthening of the existing listed timber floors to support marble slabs, introduction of marble columns and the recreation of a bespoke multifaceted bronze and glass entrance door and screen from Bulgari’s original Rome boutique. McDonald Architects acted as executive architects developing and implementing the concept design of Peter Marino Architect of New York.
